The Air Force Reserve flies the B-52 and the A-10 out of Barksdale, one of the largest bomber bases in the nation. The B-52 flies a bombing mission, and instructors use the A-10 to train pilots for initial qualification. Mission: The 917th Wing of the Air Force Reserve, a fighter group, is the first unit in Reserve history to have been assigned a strategic mission.
